The Ontario Infrastructure facility located in the GTA area sought to upgrade its existing building automation system to align with specific criteria:
Compatibility with existing equipment via BACnet IP and BACnet MS/TP protocols.
Accessibility and openness through the Niagara platform.
Capability for BACnet/IP field controllers to be programmed through Niagara Workbench.
Solution
VT controls implemented a BAS LAN, deployed managed Meraki Switches and over 320 Distech controllers. This network was integrated into an EFMP infrastructure, ensuring each system within the facility was precisely monitored and controlled, forming a cohesive network.
Outcome
MHCC now enjoys a BAS platform with user-friendly interface, highly scalable and flexible for customization. The upgrade made it easier for MHCC to monitor and control the building systems. With access to real time data, they can customize and make informed decisions to improve their energy efficiency.
